- Festival in the Park, Cassidy Park, Bogalusa
The Bogalusa Chamber of Commerce will
hold their annual Festival in the Park event this
same weekend on the opposite side of the park, a short walk from the
re-enactment area. This festival includes entertainment, food, rides and arts and
crafts displays.
- Friends of the Cassidy Park Museums presents Civil War-era living history
re-enactment, “Battle of the Partisan Rangers”; Slidell Battery of Spaight’s Battalion.
Cannons, cavalry,soldiers and skirmishes. The site of 2008 and 2009 battles is
centrally located in the city and surrounded by the Bogue Lusa Creek. General
public times, 9:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.; “Festival in the Park” may go on longer.
- Cassidy Park’s Pioneer Museum and Museum of Indian Culture are small, one-
room museums located in the heavily wooded park that features the Bogue Lusa
Creek running through it. The museums will be open each day so that visitors may
see its permanent collection and current exhibit.
